Hello Friends,

I have been using oracle 11g 11.2.0.10 on RHEL 6.3 32Bit OS. Now I wish to move on new hardware so I would like to know that which RHEL 64bit version is best suitable for Oracle 11g 11.2.0.10.

Thanks,
Chintan

OL7 is the obvious choice. Of course, it isn't certified. But as 11.2.0.1 is years out of support, I wouldn't think that is a problem for you.

I'd be curious as to why you want to move to new hardware and OS, but leave your database at an old and unsupported level.

Due to the cost of license.

I would like to know one more thing that when we bought oracle db we have received 32bit software. Should i use 64bit software against that same license?

Thank you,
Chintan

If you have a support contract for your licence, you can upgrade to anything you like. Current version would be 19.8 64bit. If you do not have a support contract, you will have to stay on exactly the version you have now.

Licensing is a contractual arrangement with Oracle Corp. Asking licensing questions of strangers on the internet is as daft as trying to run old, unsupported software on new platforms for which it is not designed. What's the cost of a license vs. the cost of losing your database?
