I followed you instructions, but nothing happens. When I run ./runInstaller the following lines appear:

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/1/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre. Please wait...

Then I get put back to the command line.

I have tried running this from the command line, as well as from a terminal window in xwindows.

But I get the same results.

Can anyone help?

Thanx

I have this exact same problem. Logged in as my newly
created oracle user. Using RedHat Linux 7.2 and Gnome.

Is there any solution?
