When I try to remove Oracle 8.1.7 server by using the Oracle installer on Solaris 8 server the list of installed products is empty. The server works fine and I dont want to delete the oracle files without unistalling it first.

Any ideas?

1. first uninstall / remove the database(s) (if any).
use dbca to remove the database and files.
   remove entries from your oratab.
   clean the listner.ora
2. now use Oinstall to uninstall.
3. Physically remove the files.
