I installed the Oracle 9201 (Oracle 9i database, Enterprise Edition, Software only) on AIX5.2.0. The installation went through OK, but it fails with linking oracle 9i datebase with Error in invoking target ultilties of make file:

$ORACLE_HOME/rbdms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk.

I don't know whether AIX5.2.0 need any patches for Oracle9i

Hi,

Not sure if Oracle 9.2 is supposed to run on AIX5.2. According to the installations guide you need AIX 4.3.3 or 5.1. For 5.1 you need the following patches:

AIX 5L release 5.1 ML01+
(IY22854), IY26778,
IY28766, IY28949,
IY29965, IY30150

Patches can be downloaded from http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/fixes

Hi,
few days ago I installed Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1.0) on AIX 5.2. There is no proble related to version. Even though installation doc refer to 5.1., there is no problem whilie installation on 5.2.
I think in your case the disk space went full, because this error will come when universal installer could not find disk space to continues its operation. so just allocate around 5 GB for software mount point.
