For the purposes of testing various scripts while not at work, have installed 11G on notebook running 8Gb Ram and 8core cpu.
When performing a recovery of tablespaces using Oracle Enterprise Manager (TSPITR) the outcome is successful (despite the webpage always indicating an error). But whenever try running the same job from the command line, it always fails with RMAN-04025 error: unable to create temporary file. This has me confused since the commands/auxiliary directory specified are identical (using automatic auxiliary instance, not manual pre-created). Running the same jobs on another notebook at work generates no errors, so perhaps something missing as regards host credentials/permissions. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated from anyone.
